1. Completion requirements

Master’s Course
A student shall be enrolled in the course for the standard term or more and shall obtain at least 30 credits, including the required and optional subjects defined by each course. In addition, the student shall receive research guidance from a specific academic advisor, submit a master’s thesis, and pass the thesis examination and final examination. Although the standard course term is two years, it may be shortened to one year if the student is recognized to have produced an excellent performance.
Doctoral Course
A student shall be enrolled in the course for the standard term or more and shall obtain at least 12 credits in each course, including four credits of required subjects. In addition, the student shall receive research guidance from a specific academic advisor, submit a doctoral thesis, and pass the thesis examination and final examination. Although the standard term is three years, the student may be conferred with a doctoral degree after at least one year of enrollment if the student is recognized to have produced an excellent performance (at least two years for a student who completed his/her master’s course in the first year).

2. Degrees

Master’s Course
A student will be conferred with a master’s degree (science) or a master’s degree (engineering) based on the content of his/her dissertation.
Doctoral Course
A student will be conferred with a doctoral degree (philosophy), a doctoral degree (science), or a doctoral degree (engineering) based on the content of his/her dissertation.
