Leander Hughes

Leander Hughes is an associate professor of English Education at the Saitama University Center for English Education and Development. He is active in the research and development of computer assisted language learning (CALL) technologies and is the creator of LLEX, a free online tool for extracting important English vocabulary from a text. Leander also teaches programming and game development to total beginners as an English for Specific Purposes (ESP) course. Other research interests include the effect of communication on language development, learner autonomy and motivation.

In addition, Leander worked with Saitama University alumni Aram Lee to design the present version of this website and currently functions as its administrator.
