第1回 国際ERATOシンポジウムを開催しました　The 1st International ERATO Symposium Held at Saitama University

ー植物の「感覚」の世界を、世界の研究者とともに紐解くー

7月14日(月)、本学にて「第1回 国際ERATOシンポジウム（The 1st International ERATO Symposium）」を開催しました。本シンポジウムは、JST(科学技術振興機構)のERATO豊田植物感覚プロジェクトの一環として実施されたものです。

招待講演者

• 福島健司 准教授(国立遺伝学研究所)
• 中村匡良 教授(埼玉大学、ERATO植物分子遺伝学グループグループリーダー)
• 朽津和幸 先生(東京理科大学)
• Eva E. Deinum 博士(オランダ・ワーゲニンゲン大学)

また、基調講演として、植物研究の世界的権威である Rainer Hedrich 教授(中国・深圳先進技術大学)が登壇しました。
各講演では、植物のかたちづくりや進化、細胞内の信号伝達、デジタルシミュレーション、そして植物の未来的応用など、多様な角度から植物の可能性を見つめ直す内容が紹介されました。
今回の国際シンポジウムは、専門を越えて研究者同士がつながる貴重な機会となり、新たな発想や連携の種が生まれました。

ERATO豊田植物感覚プロジェクトでは、こうした対話の機会を大切にしながら、科学と社会をつなぐ研究のかたちを広げていきます。

On July 14, 2025, the ERATO Toyota Plant Sensory Transduction Project hosted the 1st International ERATO Symposium at Saitama University. This symposium was organized as part of the ERATO initiative funded by JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency).
The symposium brought together leading plant scientists from Japan and abroad for a day of vibrant discussions and meaningful exchanges at the forefront of plant research.

In the keynote lecture, Dr. Rainer Hedrich, a world-renowned expert in plant research from the Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology (China), delivered a keynote address.
Each presentation offered a unique perspective on the hidden potential of plants—ranging from plant morphogenesis and evolution to intracellular signal transduction, commuter simulations, and future applications of plant science.
The symposium provided a valuable opportunity for researchers across disciplines to connect, sparking new ideas and future collaborations.

The ERATO Toyota Plant Sensory Transduction Project will continue to foster such dialogues as it works to bridge science and society, and to explore new forms of collaborative research.
