2025年度サマープログラムを開催しました Summer Program 2025 was held

例年6月から7月にかけて、埼玉大学では短期語学・文化研修プログラム「サマープログラム」を実施しています。
今年度は6月7日(土)から7月9日(水)までの約1か月間で開催し、海外大学から9名の学生が参加しました。
サマープログラム生はホームステイをしながら埼玉大学に通い、日本語や経済・教養分野のサマープログラム集中講義科目を受講しました。
 
今年度は本学の学生とサマープログラム生が交流する機会を得られるように、様々なイベントを実施しました。歌舞伎鑑賞、浴衣で川越さん策、茶摘み・抹茶体験など、参加者達は日本の伝統文化を学び、体験しながらお互いの親睦を深めることができました。
また、本プログラムには埼大生もボランティアとして参加し、それぞれグループとして活動し、「埼玉の魅力発見」または「留学生との交流を促進できるイベント」をテーマとして、最終日に発表が行われました。川越や春日部、そば体験など各グループが現地を訪れ、調査した質の高い発表により、今後の国際交流イベントの大きなヒントとなりました。
 
参加した学生からは「文化的な違いを超えて交流できたこと、英語での意思疎通がスムーズにできるようになったことなど、期待以上の成果を得ることができました。また、世界中から集まった仲間たちとの出会いは、自分の世界を大きく広げてくれました。今でも交流を続けており、この繋がりは一生の宝物だと思っています。」といった感想が寄せられました。

Every year, Saitama University holds a short-term language and culture training program named "Summer Program".
Summer Program 2025 was held for 4 weeks from June 7 (Sat.) to July 9 (Wed.), welcoming 9 students from oversea universities.
Summer Program students commuted to Saitama University while staying with host families and took intensive course in Japanese language, economics and liberal arts.
 
This year, various events were held to give opportunities for interaction between students of Saitama university and summer program students. Participants learned about and experienced traditional Japanese culture through activities such as watching kabuki, wearing yukata to join Kawagoe Strolling, and experiencing tea picking and matcha, while deepening their friendships with each other.
Students from Saitama University also participated in this program as volunteers, and each group worked together to make presentations on the final day on the theme of "Discovering the Charm of Saitama" or "Events that can promote exchange with international students." Each group visited Kawagoe, Kasukabe, making soba, and the high-quality presentations they had researched provided great hints for future international exchange events.
 
Participating students commented, "We were able to communicate beyond cultural differences, and smoothly in English, which was more than we expected. Also, meeting friends from all over the world has greatly broadened my world. We still keep in contact with each other, and I think these connections are a lifelong treasure."
