多文化共修センターとは

What is "Center for Multicultural Collaborative Learning"?

1. 多文化共修プログラムの設計と全学的展開
2. オンライン型国際共修科目の開発
3. 海外協定校との協定締結や海外インターンシップの企画・実施
4. 留学生の就学サポート
5. 留学生の就職・地域定着推進
6. 多文化共修FD・SDの実施
7. 国内外におけるシンポジウムの企画・実施

また本センターは、埼玉大学産学官連携協議会や埼玉県留学生交流推進協議会などの地域諸団体と連携し、地域志向型多文化共修科目や留学生向けインターンシップなどで協力します。
本センターは2025年度より本格的に活動を開始し、毎年度の評価と改善を行いながら、質の高い多文化共修教育を提供して参ります。

Saitama University has been selected for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) subsidy project for "Multicultural Campus Project Toward Social Impact (for short: Multicultural Project)". In this project, Saitama University aims to develop a university-wide practical multicultural education based on the trinity of regional co-creation, diversity problem solving, and resilient social research. In order to achieve this, we have established "Center for Multicultural Collaborative Learning" to provide high-quality multicultural co-learning courses to help students understand the significance of cross-cultural education and multicultural education, and to further strengthen our international strategy. The Center will carry out the following activities.

1. Design and university-wide development of multicultural co-learning programs
2. Development of online international co-study courses
3. Conclusion of agreements with overseas partner universities and planning and implementation of overseas internships
4. Academic support for international students
5. Promoting employment and community retention for international students
6. Implementation of multicultural co-learning FD and SD
7. Planning and implementation of symposia in Japan and overseas

In addition, the Center will collaborate with local organizations such as the Saitama University Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration Council and the Saitama International Student Exchange Promotion Council to cooperate in community-oriented multicultural co-study courses and internships for international students.
The Center will begin full-scale activities in FY2025 and will provide high-quality multicultural co-learning education while evaluating and improving it every year.

Message from the Director

Susumu Nonaka: Executive Director of Education and Student Affairs

As the world today is facing various problems, it is getting more valuable than ever to create opportunities for cooperation, exchanges, and above all, dialogue with other countries and cultures. 

In the Multicultural Co-learning Project which Saitama University is promoting, ("University-Wide Development of Active Education for Multicultural Coexistence: the Trinity of "Co-Creating Community-Solving Diversity Challenges-Studying for Resilient Society") we hope to nurture the next generation with the motivation and skills to actively take part in multicultural dialogue and coexistence, both on the international stage and in local communities.

To this end, our project will create a multicultural co-learning campus where international and Japanese students can learn together, interact on a personal level, and improve themselves through friendly co-operation. In addition to regular courses, we will plan various events such as symposiums and field trips. Importantly, we will not limit our activities to the university but will welcome the participation of colleagues from overseas' partner schools and residents of the local community so that the talented young people who have come to study in Saitama will be more motivated and willing to participate in helping to create a more multicultural society. We appreciate your understanding and support.
