Qualifications for Admission

(1) General Admission

Master's Degree Course

1. College graduates.
2. Persons who have acquired a Bachelor's Degree.
3. Persons who have completed 16 years of schooling overseas.
4. Persons who have, in this country, taken correspondence courses from a school in a country other than Japan and have completed 16 years of school education in that country.
5. Persons designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
6. Persons who have been matriculated in a college for 3 years or more, or have completed 15 years of schooling abroad and are by this graduate school recognized as having excelled in specified courses.
7. Persons, at least 22 years of age, who are judged, by this graduate school, based on an individual examination, to have academic ability equal or superior to that of a college graduate.

Doctoral Program

1. Persons who have obtained a Master's Degree.
2. Persons who have received, in a country other than Japan, the equivalent of a Master's Degree.
3. Persons who have, in this country, taken correspondence courses from a school in a country other than Japan and received a degree that is equivalent to a Master's degree.
4. Persons designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology.
5. Persons, at least 24 years of age, who have been judged upon individual examination to possess academic ability equal to or superior to that of someone who has a Master's degree.

(2) Special admission for people employed in education or otherwise

Researchers and engineers who are regular employees of enterprises of various kinds, or who work as teachers of scientific or technological subjects in middle schools, high schools, or technical colleges and will after admission retain their position, if they have obtained permission from the head of their company or institution and fulfill one of the conditions listed above under (1)
