「高校生のためのグローバルセミナー」を開催しました　Saidai Helps “Global Seminar for Saitama High School Students“

平成26年11月9日(日)、埼玉大学、グローバル人材育成センター埼玉(GGS)の共催により、埼玉県内の高校生を対象に「高校生のためのグローバルセミナー」が、大宮ソニックシティ・会議室において開催されました。
このセミナーでは、JICA埼玉デスクスタッフによるアイスブレーキング、本学中本進一教授による『海外の学生がやっている夢をかなえるための学び方』と題した基調講演に続き、約30名の高校生が7つのグループに分かれ、異文化理解、多文化共生など様々な課題についての解決策を埼玉大学の留学生、留学経験のある日本人学生と共に議論し、アクションプランとしてまとめた後に発表を行いました。埼玉大学からは、外国人留学生15名と日本人学生4名が参加し、高校生のアクションプラン作りをサポートしました。
社会的にグローバル人材が求められる中、年齢や国籍など様々な文化・習慣をもつ若い世代が一堂に集い、議論することはたいへん貴重であり、参加者からは「こういった機会を増やしてもらうことで、グローバル人材が増えていくのではないか」といった意見もあり、参加者にとって有意義な1日となりました。

"Global Seminar for High School Students" for high school students of Saitama Prefecture was held at Omiya Sonic City conference room on November 9th, Sunday, co-hosted by Saitama University and Saitama Center for Go Global Saitama (GGS).

The seminar started with a brief speech by the staff from JICA Saitama Center, and a Keynote lecture "How international students fulfill their dream" by Professor Shinichi Nakamoto, Saitama University. Then 30 high school students were divided into 7 groups and discussed a solution about various issues such as multicultural coexistence and cross-cultural understanding, with both international students and Japanese students who had studied abroad from Saitama University, and made group presentations as action plans. From Saitama University, 15 international students and 4 Japanese students participated in this event to support these high school students.

Besides the increasing demand of global human resources, it is meaningful for young generation with a variety of culture, customs, ages and nationality to gather and discuss global issues. “By increasing this kind of opportunity, the global human resources will increase" the participants said.
