As the need for stronger links between the global society and the business world grow, university education and research is undergoing a transformation. Here at Saitama University, reserves of knowledge and research experience are being freed up through the creation of satellite institutions. In April 2000, two satellite institutions, Saitama University Omiya Sonic City College in the Sonic City Building near Omiya Station, and Tokyo Station College near the Yaesu Exit of Tokyo Station, opened their doors.
