Many international students are enrolled in this graduate school. International students are not required to hold a Japanese teacher’s licenses to apply.
All international students must belong to a research lab. The labs create an environment where students will be able to work with their academic advisors and fellow Japanese students in a close familial relationship. Students may then continue on to the doctoral course (offered by the United Graduate School of Education with Tokyo Gakugei University).
Students wishing to take the entrance exam should consult with a professor they would like to have as their academic advisor in advance with research plans they developed. Receiving one or two years of research guidance as a research student is another possible path toward passing the graduate school entrance exam. For information on procedures for becoming a research student, contact the School Affairs Section of the Faculty of Education.
