Platform balance

It is one of the instruments to measure mass (weight) of object.

     Load known weights to one of the two platforms and object to the other.

     If the needle of balance oscillates equally on both sides, mass is already counterbalanced .  You need not wait for the stillness of the needle.

     After use, puts the platforms together.

Caution

     A reagent should not directly load on the platform.  Generally a paraffin paper is layed on the platform.

     Take out a solid reagent in a bottle with a dry and clean reagent spoon.

     Use a beaker or a glass plate instead of a paraffin paper for deliquescent reagents (e.g. NaOH).

Electric balance

It is one of the instruments to measure mass (weight) of object.

     The mass (weight) of object is measured electrically, and displayed in digital value.

Caution

     Carefully operate the balance.  Don't load over the maximum limit.  Clean when you spill chemicals.
